யாதனின் யாதனின் நீங்கியான் நோதல்
அதனின் அதனின் இலன்.
Modern interpretation
Whatever attachment a person gives up, that particular attachment can no longer cause the same pain. Letting go removes the grip of the thing we were clinging to. For example, releasing the need for everyone's approval makes criticism much easier to bear.

Modern interpretation
The person who cuts away the pride of “I” and “mine” reaches a state described as higher than even the gods can attain. Freedom begins when the self is no longer built around ownership and ego.

Modern interpretation
Those who renounce every attachment are said to reach the highest freedom, while those who cling remain confused and trapped in the cycle of birth. Partial release does not bring the same clarity as wholehearted detachment. For example, wanting a fresh start while protecting every old harmful habit keeps the same problem alive.

When attachment is truly abandoned, the cycle of further birth is said to end; while it remains, life keeps shifting through unstable joys and sorrows. The teaching places freedom in complete release, not temporary restraint. For example, ignoring one craving for a day is different from no longer being ruled by it.
