இன்மையா வையா துலகு.
Modern interpretation
Lack of wisdom is the greatest kind of poverty; lacking money is less serious if good judgment remains. A person with few resources can rebuild, while a wealthy person without wisdom can ruin everything.

அறிவிலான் நெஞ்சுவந்து ஈதல் பிறிதியாதும்
இல்லை பெறுவான் தவம்.
Modern interpretation
When a foolish person gives something generously, the good fortune belongs more to the receiver than to the giver's judgment. If a careless person unexpectedly shares a useful opportunity, be grateful without assuming they will act wisely every time.
